Board addresses Fort Mojave Mesa Fire District vacancy

The Board of Supervisors at their June 17 meeting addressed the vacancy that exists on the Fort Mojave Mesa Fire District Board and the requirement of the Board to fill the vacancy if a quorum of the fire district members do not appoint an interim member within 90 days.

In accordance with A.R.S. § 48-802(D), to serve as a fire district board member, candidates must be, and during incumbency must remain, qualified electors of the fire district, and must be a resident of the district for at least one year immediately preceding the appointment. A person is not eligible to be a candidate if that person is related by affinity or consanguinity within the third degree to a person who serves on the board during the candidate’s term of office.

Those qualified individuals wishing to be considered are encouraged to contact Ginny Anderson, Clerk of the Board at ginny.anderson@mohavecounty.us or (928) 753-0731 to obtain an application. Completed applications should be returned to the Clerk’s office on or before July 3, at 700 W. Beale Street, 3rd Floor, Kingman, Arizona or by U.S. Mail to P.O. Box 7000, Kingman, AZ 86402-7000.  The Board of Supervisors will discuss filling the vacancy at their meeting on July 15.
