Bishop recall flops

In reading the article that documented the attempted Recall of Jean Bishop, published on March 1, 2021, I found myself raising an eyebrow to the comment in the first paragraph about how the ousting of Jean Bishop is over, “at least for now” as if to say that there will be another.

If so, it would be a complete waste of tax payers money.

The article points out how Robert Hall has “complained for months” that Bishop was somehow involved in nefarious acts against a pizza joint she loved to frequent herself. Does it even make any sense? In regards to the accusations, Isn’t this a case of “He said, She said”? There really is no proof at all that Robert Hall and Steven Robinson’s claims are even valid.

Here’s an idea; What if Robert Hall called the Health Department on himself? Or what if he had someone else call for him? What if this is another one of those political type stunts that people play in order to gain the sympathy of the public, and to draw attention to themselves for the purpose of making some money? Doesn’t Robert Hall claim to be a “Patriot”?

Isn’t it a tragedy that people can accuse others without having any kind of proof whatsoever? Shouldn’t “we the people” weigh out potential motives of those who accuse in this manner, without having any kind of proof?

Although there is nothing wrong with making money and planning upcoming events, should this be done at the expense of a distinguished reputation as far as a Mohave County resident is concerned? There is no argument that Jean Bishop is a very prominent and a well respected woman of this county.

Bishop denied any involvement at all, and with that in mind, (and having the reputation that she does), does that statement have no value or merit? There are many of her constituents who believe in her, however her reputation has now been tarnished, and who’s going to remedy this? Of course the newspapers can publish articles such as these, but what kind of comfort can this bring to a woman who has even lost her honorable, law abiding husband, Lt. Dan Cofer Bishop during this attack? Lt. Dan Bishop was well aware of what Steven Robinson and Robert Hall were trying to do to his wife. I’m sure it had to have been extremely hard on the both of them.

It is unfortunate that these recalls can be filed without any kind of proof of any illegalities or corruption on the part of the targeted individual. Doing this sort of thing should be illegal. But it is definitely unethical to bring forth frivolous accusations and name calling, and then call it your right under the first amendment to do so. What it is, is dastardly and despicable. And speaking of the first amendment, these are the same people who try and shut others up by censoring their comments on social media by blocking and removing questions that they do not want to answer for fear of being exposed.

I don’t think I know of any other female here in this county who has acquired the kind of resume that Bishop has worked hard to acquire all of these years; and for some business owner who has only been in this county less then 3 years, to put forth the kinds of accusations he has against Mrs. Bishop is not acceptable. Robert Hall and Steven Robinson have no credibility themselves. No proof.

Everything considered, the county voted her in, which means that the majority spoke loud and clear; And as with any election, Jean Bishop won, but for this small group of people who think that they represent the majority; they are working an obvious money-making scheme under the guise of “patriotism” (in my opinion) and Bishop continues to be attacked in public with rumors that cannot be confirmed and flat out lies. And because of this small group of people, this county’s residents should be warned, for what has happened to Jean Bishop and the rest, can happen to anyone who this small group of people decide to target next.
