BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Police Department have recognized police officers and civilian employees who have contributed in a special way to help others and improve public safety.
On Wednesday, Nov. 13, during the 2019 Annual Awards Program, Corporal Brian Morin was named Police Officer of the Year and Senior Emergency Services Dispatcher Karen Clark was named Civilian Employee of the Year.
Corporal Brian Morin began his career with the Bullhead City Police Department in 2001. He was promoted to the rank of Corporal in 2017.
“Corporal Morin is a well-respected member of the department. His personnel file is filled with accolades from citizens for his compassion, professionalism and kindness,” said Police Chief Brian Williamson. “Corporal Morin can always be counted on to lend a helping hand, whether it is with Shop with a Cop, the Fraternal Order of Police Santa Sleigh or any other community policing events. His job knowledge and experience make him a ‘go-to-officer’ for both new and senior officers.”
Corporal Morin is an instructor at the Western Arizona Law Enforcement Training Academy, a Field Training Officer and a great mentor for new police officers.
Karen Clark began her career with the Bullhead City Police Department as an Emergency Services Dispatcher in 1994 and served for over 17 years. She returned in 2013 and was quickly promoted, again, to Senior Emergency Services Dispatcher in 2016. In addition to supervising a dispatch shift, Karen is the Communications Training Officer Coordinator for the department and oversees the training program for the Bureau of 911 Communications. She is also the lead Communications Specialist for the Tactical Response Unit.
“Karen’s work ethic, professionalism and job knowledge are just a few of the reasons she was selected by her peers for this award,” said Chief Williamson. “It takes a special person to be a successful dispatcher and you are certainly the best of the best!”
Congratulations to all those who received an award for their excellence and dedication to the community.
