BHC drug cases settled

BULLHEAD CITY – A Palm Desert, California man arrested in Bullhead City for drug offenses has been sentenced to the Arizona Department of Corrections. Mohave County Superior Court Judge Rick Lambert imposed a five-year prison term Friday, Nov. 20 for Hogan Marshall, 29.

Deputy county attorney Jim Ferlmann told the Court that police seized 150 Xanax pills from Marshall, following an Aug. 5 traffic stop at 1882 Lakeside Drive. Ferlmann urged Judge Lambert to reject pleas for probation and order a prison sentence because of the defendant’s extensive criminal history.

Lambert agreed, citing Marshall’s nine previous felony and misdemeanor convictions for various crimes. Lambert ordered prison after noting an assessment that Marshall was a high risk to re-offend if placed on probation.

A Mohave Valley woman charged in an unrelated drug case entered a probation guaranteed plea agreement in another Nov. 20 hearing conducted by Judge Lambert. Tammy Morgan, 39, pleaded guilty to possession of dangerous drugs, reduced from a sale related count, while a transportation charge is dismissed.

Ferlmann said officers confiscated more than 7 grams of methamphetamine, syringes and a glass pipe from Morgan during a March 10 traffic stop in Bullhead City. Sentencing for Morgan is scheduled Dec. 21.
