Best viewing spots for Havasu fireworks celebration

LAKE HAVASU CITY – You know that summertime is in full swing when you can witness the beautiful fireworks display over the Lake in Havasu. The Go Lake Havasu Visiting Center will be once more providing the annual fireworks display for the community to see. There are a few spots in town that can offer the best views.

One of those locations is the Havasu Riviera Marina. View 4th of July fireworks in style with the marina’s live music by rock band Diesel Kentrucky, food trucks of Minor’s Diner and PZA Wood Fired Pizza, and mobile bar provided by Shakerz. Annual pass holders of the marina can attend free; however, there is a $20 entrance fee per car for non-members. Their party is from 6 to 10 p.m. at 2067 Havasu Riviera Parkway.

You can also view the show free of charge at Thompson Bay by boat. Early arrivals are strongly encouraged as this viewing option is well known to fill up fairly quickly. Then there’s viewing that can be done at London Bridge Beach. Spectators can bring their own chairs, blankets, and coolers are allowed too.

You can also see the show on the island at the town’s Nautical Beachfront Resort. For those going to this location, this is actually where the magic starts! Fireworks will be set off right across from Lookout Point which is across the bay at Spectator Point. Early arrival is important as the resort’s limited free parking begins at 8 p.m.  Coolers and outside alcohol are not permitted at this location.

For a better viewpoint of the show, Rotary Park would be the best location. There will be plenty of free parking where you’re allowed to bring a cooler. The visiting center is warning against bringing pets to these displays due to the sudden loudness of the fireworks that could possibly be damaging to their ears. You can also tune into the live simulcast with KNTR 980AM who will be playing songs to go along with the show. Live access to the radio station’s music stream for the show can be listened to by visiting  myradiocentral.com/kntrsports/stationstream.html.  Fourth of July fireworks displays at Thompson Bay, Nautical Beachfront Resort, and Rotary Park, are all free to the public.

The Fireworks over the Lake Show will begin promptly at 9 p.m. and will end at 9:15 p.m. Come out and celebrate Independence Day, the national day of the United States.
