BULLHEAD CITY – The Bullhead City Fire Department recently implemented a Fire Safety coloring contest with our local school district. All fifth and sixth grade students from the Bullhead Middle School and Mohave Accelerated Learning Center (MALC) were encouraged to design a safety picture and message.
The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) creates a yearly theme for Fire Prevention Week. This year’s theme is “Cooking safety starts with YOU! This campaign educates everyone on the importance of fire prevention in the kitchen, where a significant number of home fires originate. Kitchen fires are among the leading causes of home fires and injuries in the United States.
The two lucky winners are Jazper Simmons (Sixth grade Bullhead Middle School) and Ayush Cariappa (fifth grade MALC Main Campus). Their artwork was placed on one of the BCFD Community Risk Reduction Vehicles for public display.
