AZ State Parks 4th annual cleanup event will include beer tastings

LAKE HAVASU CITY — Arizona State Park will be teaming up with Historic Brewing Company for their fourth annual Windsor Beach Blonde Ale Tasting and Shoreline Cleaning Event. The historic preservation nonprofit of Phoenix, will be paying a visit to Lake Havasu this year to keep the shoreline beautiful and safe for all visitors. Community participation through events like this helps the organization with state and federal agencies, tribes, local governments, private institutions and citizens for vigilance of notable archaeological lands.

Primarily the focus is areas that are of importance within Arizona cities. With the help of Flagstaff’s Historic Brewing Company, the environmental team launched their first creative fundraising at Oracle State Park. Each year, the company has gone on to other parks to host the cleanups like Slide Rock and Rockin’ River Ranch. At the end of this month, volunteers can attend this event and will be given the needed supplies for removing garbage.

Signing up is free to the public as well as a family day where all ages are welcome to join. Volunteers will also be responsible for getting rid of invasive plants. The event organizers also want to encourage participants to wear gloves, bring plenty of water to drink, and wear sun protection.

Online forms for participants can be done by visiting Lake Havasu State Park Shoreline Cleanup Survey The cleanup day will also have live music, raffle drawings, and food vendors. The Windsor Beach Blonde Ale Tasting and Shoreline Cleaning Event will be on Saturday March 28.

The cleanup portion of the day will be from 11am to 2pm. Beer tasting sampling of beach blonde ales will take place from 2pm to 5pm at Lake Havasu State Park at 699 London Bridge Rd. Ten percent of proceeds will go towards Arizona State Parks and academic nature nonprofit, Kids on the Colorado River.

Communications Manager of Arizona State Park Elizabeth Haugan maintains that over the years, the event is a fun way to attract members of the community to support the company’s ongoing mission to safeguard local parks for generations to come. “I’m thrilled with the idea these events have led to stewardship of our natural resources,” Haugen said.
