Joey Myers named to Dean’s List

Joey Myers of Lake Havasu City was named to the Dean’s List by Dr. Troy Shoemaker, president of Pensacola Christian College, for academic achievement during the 2019 fall semester. This was a result of earning a semester grade point average of 3.00 or higher. Pensacola Christian College is a liberal arts college enrolling students from every state in the U.S. and from around the world. The College has an enrollment of nearly 5,000 students (undergraduate, graduate, and seminary) and offers a variety of programs of study.

Supervisors discuss animal shelter, review of publicly-held buildings

MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave County Manager Mike Hendrix credits assistant Yvonne Orr and other staff members for successful operation of the Animal Shelter in downtown Kingman. The county took control of the facility last July, following its operation by the Western Arizona Humane Society for the previous decade. “We came across a lot of bumps in the beginning,” Orr said during the regular Board of Supervisors meeting conducted Tuesday, Jan. 21 in Bullhead City. “We still are having some issues but all in all I think things are going well with the shelter.” Orr said shelter operations are maintained within…

44 indicted in Kokopelli Eye Institute case

MOHAVE COUNTY – Five people employed at the Kokopelli Eye Institute in Kingman have been indicted along with the doctor who operates the business that also has branches in Prescott, Prescott Valley, Peoria, Wickenburg, Surprise, Glendale and Fountain Hills. Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich early this month announced the indictment of Dr. Michael Lee Ham in an alleged fraud and billing scandal. Brnovich has subsequently announced the indictment of 44 employees who worked at the various Kokopelli Eye Institutes.
