Words not regretted

Dear Editor, Re: Jack Ehrhardt’s missive that I had so strongly offended his sensibilities. I will try to explain but will not apologize for my thoughts. I am puzzled by the comment about my victimhood. I do not feel victimized in the slightest measure. I was born into and raised to adulthood in a staunchly Democrat household, so I know and appreciate full well the feelings and sentiments therein. Hotel tax rate hike voted down

BULLHEAD CITY – Any thought of seeking voter approval of an increase in the Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) appears dead for now in Bullhead City. There was no support for the initiative when City Manager Toby Cotter floated a trial balloon at the February 18 council meeting. “It was my impression at the workshop that there didn’t seem to be four votes in favor of moving this item forward,” Cotter said. “And, so rather than having our attorney put a lot of work into a potential resolution of adoption, I ask you this evening if you’re in favor of doing…

It was found that Handley possessed a gun in his pocket, along with drug paraphernalia. A search of his backpack revealed 45 rounds of ammunition, 4.8 grams of methamphetamine, 1.2 grams of a brown tar-like substance, and four Adderall pills. Handley…

Deputy Chief Rusty Cooper said Kingman police learned that former Merced County Sheriff’s deputy Phillip Brooks, 52, was staying at a home in the 2400 block of Natalie Street. Cooper said officers used a PA system to contact anyone inside the home at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, February 23. “Brooks exited the home and was taken into custody without incident,” Cooper said.
