Human skull identified as missing California man

Forensic analysis has led to positive identification following the discovery of a human skull a little more than a year ago, according to the Mohave County Sheriff’s office. A hiker found the skull on March 15, 2018 in a desert area off Historic Route 66, south of Oatman. Sheriff’s office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said the skull was sent to the University of North Texas Center for Human Identification for DNA analysis. Fox agrees to six-year prison sentence in fraud plea

A mandatory six-year prison punishment is mandated in a plea agreement convicting a Kingman man of trafficking stolen property and fraudulent use of a credit card. Robert Fox, 53, is scheduled to be sentenced on April 15 by Judge Billy Sipe. Prosecutor Jonathan Robinson told the court that the victim, when examining her bank records, discovered that her credit card was used by another party to effect about $1,400 in purchases at Kingman businesses including JC Penney, Big 5, Home Depot, Smiths and Walgreens last October. On the morning of Tuesday, March 2, Kingman Fire Department was dispatched for a structure fire in the area of Simms and Jackson Sts. First arriving fire personnel found heavy fire and smoke exiting a single family residence. Crews immediately began a defensive attack due to the heavy fire involvement throughout the structure. Furrow gets probation, community service in drug case

The first of five defendants charged through an investigation of suspected drug sales from a home in Bullhead City avoided further jail time during a March 28 sentencing hearing in Kingman Thursday. Michael Furrow, 35, was placed on probation for 18 months and ordered to perform 60 hours of community work service. Mentally ill man spared prison time; ordered to probation

A Bullhead City man suffering from schizophrenia and gender identity disorders is being given a chance to get mental health treatment while on probation rather than be sent to prison. Mohave County Court Commissioner Billy Sipe placed Dean Randall, 30, on probation for three years when he could have imposed up to 14 years in prison during a March 29 sentencing hearing. Judge Sipe imposed a 170-day jail sentence and credited him for that many days spent in custody so that Randall could be released.
