Tourism to Grand Canyon National Park creates economic benefits

A new National Park Service (NPS) report shows that the 6.3 million visitors to Grand Canyon National Park in 2018 spent $947 million in communities near the park. Milne receives seven years for abuse of daughter

Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) employees offered rebuttal when a Bullhead City man minimized his involvement in the abuse of his eight week-old daughter last November. Defense attorney Kenneth Beane said 23-year-old Dalton Milne suffered a momentary loss of self control. “I’m sorry this happened. I kind of lost control,” Milne told Mohave County Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle, during a May 25 sentencing hearing. Public comment sought on national park accessibility

The National Park Service is seeking public comment on a draft plan that provides recommendations to improve accessibility of visitor services at Lake Mead National Recreation Area.  An interdisciplinary team, including park and regional staff, identified key park experiences and park areas to determine which areas would be evaluated for accessibility needs. The team then developed implementation strategies for improving accessibility at each location.  The plan will guide changes to the way existing services, activities and programs are provided in multiple locations throughout Lake Mead National Recreation Area by defining what barriers limit accessibility and by providing recommendations on how…

Two of three accept plea deal in drug case

Two of three defendants charged in a Bullhead City drug bust have entered plea agreements to resolve their cases short of trial. Jacob Earle Beane, 39, Matthew Grady Sandman, 40 and Micka Fern Kutschat, 26, were arrested when law enforcement officers conducted a February 5, 2018 search of a home in the 1800 block of Granada Drive. Bullhead City police spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said methamphetamine was found throughout the residence, as well as a small amount of marijuana and some drug paraphernalia. Anglers can fish Arizona waters for free on Saturday, June 1, making this an ideal time to take the family out for some fun and relaxing outdoor recreation. Kingman Regional Medical Center (KRMC) will launch a new electronic health record system on Saturday, June 1, 2019. An electronic health record (EHR) is a digital version of a patient’s chart, including the patient’s complete health history.
