Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive

KINGMAN – Each year, letter carriers across the country head out on their routes on the second Saturday in May to collect donations of non-perishable food items to benefit local food pantries. Since launching in 1993, the National Association of Letter Carriers’ annual Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive has grown into the nation’s largest one-day food drive, helping to fill the shelves of food banks in cities and towns throughout the United States. Superhero Walk for CASA

KINGMAN – April 27 was the 7th Annual Superhero 5K Walk/Run & Kids Dash in Kingman. There were many Heroes for a foster child, participating today in this great event as they came dressed in their favorite Superhero for CASA’s  Superhero Run/Walk. It started out with the Kids Dash followed by the 5K Run/Walk and a Awards Ceremony! All the proceeds went to benefit CASA Council Helping Children of Mohave County. Avila returns for prosecution in double homicide

KINGMAN – The suspect in a near two-year-old double homicide outside Kingman faces a May 16 initial court appearance before Judge Doug Camacho at the Mohave County Law and Justice Center. Daniel Matthew Avila, 26, El Mirage, is charged with two counts of first-degree murder for the June 27, 2022 shooting deaths of Retta Atkins, 73, and her husband Darren VanHouten, 50.
