BULLHEAD CITY – A pair of Colorado River community drug dealers were sentenced to the Arizona Department of Corrections last week in separate Mohave County Superior Court cases. The 16-year prison term ordered June 18 for Stephen Martin, 60, was stipulated in a plea agreement. Deputy county attorney Kellen Marlow said Martin, Bullhead City, sold nearly three pounds of methamphetamine over a 10-day period last June to a confidential informant. The prosecutor told Judge Rick Lambert that Martin should be distinguished from people transporting drugs to other locations because he was involved in sales activity that poisoned the local community….

FT. MOHAVE – On Sunday, June 21, at approximately 11:56 p.m., a deputy with the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle near S. Calle Ranchita and E. Camino Viejo in Fort Mohave. An occupant of the involved vehicle opened fire on the deputy, striking the deputy’s vehicle multiple times. The vehicle fled after the shooting occurred and has not been located as of this time. The deputy was not injured during the shooting. KINGMAN – The driver of a moving vehicle from which pounds of methamphetamine were tossed onto Interstate 40 during a police chase entered a plea agreement Monday. Guadalupe Astorga, 44, Tulare, California is being convicted of transportation of dangerous drugs for sale. Terms of the deal require Mohave County Superior Court Judge Doug Camacho to order a five-year prison term when Astorga is sentenced on July 20. Authorities allege Astorga kept driving when a Mohave County Sheriff’s deputy tried to conduct a traffic stop for a suspected lane change violation about two miles east of Kingman.
