DOLAN SPRINGS – Two teenagers were killed when the quad they were riding was struck by a vehicle in Dolan Springs. The Mohave County Sheriff’s office responded at 8:30 p.m. Saturday to the incident at milepost 5 on Pierce Ferry Road. Acting sheriff’s office spokeswoman Sandy Edwards said the reporting party had advised that a white pickup truck crashed into a quad occupied by three riders. Edwards said medical personnel had already declared two 13-year-old girls dead at the scene before deputies arrived. Agency spokesman Bart Graves said the Saturday crash on State Route 95 was reported at 9:51 p.m., at milepost 162. CANE BEDS – An officer-involved shooting (OIS) is under investigation in the north Mohave County community of Cane Beds. The Mohave County Sheriff’s office received a report of shots fired at a residence at an unspecified time of day on Saturday. “Due to the nature of the call, the on-duty Mohave County deputy requested assistance from the Colorado City Marshal’s Office (CCMO),” said sheriff spokeswoman Anita Mortensen. KINGMAN – The City of Kingman is taking a proactive approach in seeking voter approval in November to liquidate property it will not control until sometime next spring. The city council voted July 21 to bring the question to the people in the upcoming general election. City Manager Ron Foggin said the city can save about $30,000 by piggybacking the Kingman question on the November 3 general election ballot rather than having a stand-alone election early next year. “We’re just excited to be able to have this done now instead of having a special election early next year,” Foggin said….
