MOHAVE COUNTY – Late Monday afternoon, the Mohave County Health Department (MCDPH) Nursing staff was notified today of 12 new confirmed COVID-19 cases. There are also three deaths from previously reported cases. Two of the deaths are in the Bullhead City service area.  One is 70-79 and one is 80-89. LAKE HAVASU CITY – Effective Friday, July 31 at 11:59 p.m., the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Colorado River District lowered fire restrictions from Stage 2 to Stage 1 for public lands in and around Yuma and Lake Havasu City, due to increased moisture in the area, and lower fire activity. It has been determined that the likelihood of a large wildfire has lessened to the degree that fire restrictions can be lowered in those areas. KINGMAN – The Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) Kingman Field Office invites the public to provide input on a Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act (CERCLA) remediation project at the Minnesota-Connor Mine and Mill site, located on BLM-managed public land near Chloride in Mohave County. The Minnesota-Connor Mine is one of many hard rock mines in the historic Chloride Mining District. The mine began production in the early 1880s and was mined extensively though 1910, permanently closing in 1948. LAKE HAVASU CITY – Two people were killed and another was critically injured when two boats collided Friday at Lake Havasu. Personnel from the Mohave and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s offices and the Lake Havasu City police and fire departments responded at 7:00 p.m. to the mouth of the Colorado River.
