Colorado City voters pass ballot question to begin holding mayoral elections

COLORADO CITY – Voters have approved a ballot question that will change the way that future Mayors are chosen in the north Mohave County community of Colorado City. The measure passed 196-52 in the election conducted by mail that concluded Tuesday, May 20. “Our council members believe that it is time to implement a change in the current method of selecting our mayor,” Town Clerk Shirley Zitting wrote in a communication last November, requesting Mohave County permission to conduct the special election.
