Argument escalates to shooting in Dolan Springs

DOLAN SPRINGS – One man was wounded and another arrested after a property related dispute ended in gunfire in Dolan Springs. Mohave County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the rural community north of Kingman after the shooting was reported at 11:44 a.m. on Monday.

Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Anita Mortensen said Skippton Pasaj, 24, Dolan Springs was upset that the 57-year-old victim from Las Vegas had been cutting down shrubbery and clearing a lot in the vicinity of 5th St. and Iron Dr.

“Pasaj had driven his vehicle onto the lot that was being cleared and began driving recklessly and doing donuts,” Mortensen said. “At some point during this time, the victim was shot in the leg.”

Mortensen said aid was rendered on scene and that the victim was transported to a hospital for further treatment of the non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Mortensen said deputies located the suspect vehicle and arrested Pasaj not far from the shooting site. She said Pasaj admitted the argument and not the shooting, but that a search of his home resulted in seizure of a rifle and two spent shell casings.

Pasaj was jailed for aggravated assault and for an unrelated misdemeanor arrest warrant.
