KINGMAN – The Mohave County Animal Shelter is filled to capacity with beautiful dogs who would love nothing more than to be adopted into a loving home.
To help ease the overcrowding, Best Friends Animal Society is sponsoring adoption fees on all of the adult dogs from August 10 through 24.
The shelter at 3423 N Burbank St Kingman is open for adopting Monday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
They will be hosting a special Clear The Shelter Event on Saturday, August 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. with volunteers on site to help you find your perfect companion. They have dogs of assorted ages and sizes perfect to be your new fur-ever companion! And they have beautiful cats too!
Jessica Gutman, Senior Regional Strategist – Mountain West Best Friends Animal Society says, “Shelters in Arizona and across the country, are trying their best to save lives, but need more help from the community to step-up by fostering or adoption. Data from Best Friends Animal Society shows that nationally pet adoption steadily declined over the last five years, while shelter intakes increased as more people acquired pets from breeders and pet stores. However, if just 6% more people chose to adopt instead of purchasing a pet, we could stop the killing of cats and dogs in America’s shelters.”
Upon adoption all dogs and cats are spayed or neutered; microchipped and current on vaccines. Each adoption comes with a free wellness check with a local veterinarian and a coupon book from PetSmart with huge savings on everything you will need for your new family member.
