Alternate options available to avoid trip to MEC office

BULLHEAD CITY – As the Coronavirus, or COVID-19, situation continues to evolve, Mohave Electric Cooperative reminds members of alternate options to avoid a trip to its Member Services Office.

“With the well-being of our members a priority, and the thought of containing the spread of the virus, we recommend our members use other available options,” said Rick Campos, chief operating officer at MEC. “Social distancing is a practice encouraged by the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.”

The MEC Member Services Office on Hancock Road currently remains open, but members may prefer other options at this time. In addition, Campos said MEC continues its long-standing priority to provide safe, reliable electric service.

Among the most popular payment options is a member creating or using their existing SmartHub account or the SmartHub mobile app. Creating an account is simple and, once established, members can pay their bills electronically. Member Services can help those having problems establishing an account.

Members can also pay by phone by calling Member Services at (928) 763-1100 and select option 4 or use the IVR automated system by calling (877) 371-9379.

Members can also fill out a membership application online, print it out, sign it, and either email to mservices@mohaveelectric.com or fax to (928)763-7357. Disconnects, billing questions, and payment arrangements can also be conducted by calling the Member Services Office at (928) 763-1100.

“By limiting contact and washing our hands regularly, we all play a role in helping slow the spread of the virus,” Campos said.

For those who need to stop by the Member Services Office, a concerted effort is made to sanitize door handles and countertops throughout the day and hand sanitizer is available to use at the office by both members and MEC employees.

“We want to thank all our members for their concern for our community,” Campos said.
