All Arizona Residents Get Free Admission To State Parks This Martin Luther King, Jr. Day

Explore more in 2024 with a free visit to one of Arizona’s amazing state parks. Once again, Arizona State Parks and Trails will offer free admission to all Arizona residents on Monday, January 15 for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.

Entrance fees at the more than 30 state parks and natural areas will be waived for all Arizona residents on January 15, 2023. Visitors must show an Arizona ID for free entrance. Fees will still apply at Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park and for tours at Kartchner Caverns State Park and Riordan Mansion State Historic Park, camping, special events and concessions.

“Spend time outdoors and recharge for the new year,” said Executive Director Bob Broscheid. “Arizona’s winters are the perfect time to hike the Sonoran desert, explore the red rocks of Sedona, check out amazing fishing or water activities on the west coast, and enjoy all the diversity our state parks offer. Admission for all Arizona residents is free on the holiday to encourage everyone to get to know our great state.”

Make a resolution to get outdoors more this year to explore the state. Plan a trip for a hike, a picnic, a day on the river, or a guided event at one of the parks. To check out ways to enjoy the outdoors, visit AZStateParks.com/outdoor-resources.
