Dear Editor,
Arizona Congressional District 9 is one of the largest in the nation. It stretches from the West Valley to the California state line. From I-8 to the Utah state line. Despite its size, CD 9’s population is widespread and concentrated in a few densely populated areas including Goodyear, Surprise, Buckeye, Litchfield Park, Wickenburg, Yuma, Lake Havasu, Bullhead City and Kingman. It is vital that we are represented in Congress by a candidate who is competent and knowledgeable about the needs of the west side of our state.
Since 2020 CD9 has been represented by Paul Gosar (R) who ran unopposed. Representative Gosar’s term in Congress has been marked by his extremist and undemocratic views. Western Arizona deserves better.
This election, the residents of CD9 have a better choice. Quacy Smith is running as a Democrat for the seat. Quacy is a former Marine, former police officer, a lawyer and a preacher. He was born and raised in the western part of Arizona and lives in the district. He is a compassionate, passionate and committed candidate who will represent the needs of CD9 in Congress with honesty and concern. He is an experienced and dynamic speaker who also listens and takes the input of others.
If you care about the economy, climate change, the environment, immigration and women’s rights as well as local issues such as water, affordable housing, education, the border and population growth, Quacy Smith is your ideal choice. Quacy supports all the above issues and has plans to stand up for them in Congress.
It’s time for those of us who live in the western part of the state to demand the representation we deserve in Washington. Quacy Smith is the candidate we deserve.
