Former youth pastor arrested for sexual abuse of a young church member

arrested in handcuffs

KINGMAN — A former youth pastor and administrator has been arrested for the alleged sexual abuse of a young congregation member at the Kingman First Southern Baptist Church.

The Kingman Police Department reports the Oct. 20 arrest of Richard Scott Felton at his workplace. Felton, 57, was booked into the Adult Detention Facility on a sexual abuse charge.

Investigation began Sept. 3.

“The parents of an 8-year-old (female) made a report at the Kingman Police Department concerning sexual conduct with minor that had occurred in the 3100 block of East Hualapai Mountain Road,” said deputy police chief Joel Freed. “Detectives from the Kingman Police Department continued the investigation, learning that the sex acts occurred several times at the same location, one to two years ago.”
