KINGMAN, Ariz. – Robert “Joey” McEuen of Kingman has been selected to be the Republican nominee on the ballot in November for the Cerbat Precinct Constable, replacing Edward Carman who resigned in August to pursue a new career. McEuen was selected from a field of five qualified candidates by the Mohave County Republican Central Committee (MCRCC) who announced their choice to the Board of Supervisors meeting on September 8.
“I just feel so blessed to be able to do this,” McEuen said, “just so blessed.”
McEuen, 40, a lifelong resident of Kingman, comes to the plate with 19 years of law enforcement under his belt.
He has worked for the Mohave County Sheriff’s Office, first as an officer in the jail, then on patrol, he said.
“I was involved in several different specialties in the department. I was with Search and Rescue for a while; I was one of two coordinators with them. I was a member of the dive team for rescue and recovery in the waterways of Lake Havasu.”
McEwen said he was also a SWAT team member; a Field Training Officer; a K-9 handler; and a general detective.
Law enforcement is nothing new to McEuen. It’s been instilled in him practically since birth; it’s as if law enforcement runs through his family’s veins.
“It runs in the family,” McEuen said. “Both my parents were law enforcement officers.”
His late mother Maria Elena McEuen served in the Mohave County Sheriff’s Department for several years before retiring in 2016. She passed away in March 2024.
His father Robert “Rob” McEuen served as a sergeant for Mohave County Sheriff’s Office and previously qualified as a finalist for the Cerbat Justice of the Peace vacancy.
Joey McEuen said he views this new position as another opportunity to give back.
“I’m a 40-year resident,” McEuen said. “It’s only right to give back to my community. Again, I just feel so blessed to get to do this.”
