It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Janet Stein went home to the Lord on July 10, 2026 at the young age of 79. She was born to Arthur L. and Irene Estelle Mauck on February 06, 1947 in East St Louis, Ill. Janet married Frank Stein on November 04, 1967 and together, they built a beautiful life over fifty-eight years of marriage, raising their family with love, patience, and commitment. They were blessed with two great sons Joseph and Robert. Janet lived a life defined by her deep dedication to her loved ones, her gentle spirit, and her joyful approach to life.
Janet was a graduate of the Cosmetology College in Belleville, Ill and was a licensed cosmetologist. Janet and her family moved to Kingman, AZ in 1970. She was a devoted mother and wife and became a volunteer at Manzanita Elementary School for several years and was a scout den mother for 3 years. For fifteen years Janet shared her knowledge to young and old by teaching firearm safety and conservation for Arizona Game and Fish. She enjoyed crafting and one of her favorite hobbies was tole painting.
Janet’s greatest happiness came from simple pleasures—spending quality time with her family and sitting around a campfire in the great outdoors. She loved camping and finding peace in nature, always accompanied by her loyal dog, Shadow, who was a treasured companion.
Janet was preceded in death by her mother Irene Mauck and father Arthur Mauck, her three older sisters Estelle Agne, Patricia Hose, and Diane Kircher, and brother Arthur Mauck Jr. Janet was passionate, kind, and warm to all. She was always ready to help somebody in need. We will miss her greatly.
She leaves behind her loving husband Frank Stein, sons Joseph Stein and wife Leah of Kingman, Robert Stein and wife Heather of Tucson, AZ. Also left behind are grandsons Forrest and Cody, and granddaughter Tiffany Guillen, and four great grand-daughters and one great-grandson, and two sisters, Linda Grimes (Jerry) of Kingman and Darlene Watkins (Dale) of Phoenix as well as 14 nieces and nephews.
Arrangements are being handled by Sutton Memorial Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on August 1, 2026 at 11:00 am.
