MOHAVE COUNTY — The Arizona Primary Elections were held on Tuesday, which included local elections in Kingman, Bullhead City, and Lake Havasu City. These are preliminary and unofficial results.
Kingman
Incumbents turned back challengers in the City of Kingman’s 2026 primary election. Mark Berry pulled 36.5% of the vote, but will be defeated by Mayor Ken Watkins who leads by nearly 1,400 votes (3,211 – 1,844).
Challenger Elliot Chalew trails incumbents in the race for three City Council seats.
Jim Dykens: 3,140; Shawn Savage: 3,015; Marion Ward: 2,818; Elliot Chalew: 2,297.
Kingman voters are rejecting proposition 418 that would increase the Mayor’s term of office to four years.

Bullhead City and Lake Havasu City
Incumbent Cal Sheehy leads Dave Johnson in the race for mayor in Lake Havasu City. Sheehy earned almost 55% of the 2026 primary election vote (7,095 – 5,884).
Michele Lin leads the race for three City Council seats, while fellow incumbent Jeni Coke is fourth in the field.
Michele Lin: 7,368; Sam Scarmardo: 5,868; Neil Tinsley: 5,388; Jeni Coke: 5,169; Harrison Taylor: 4,834.
Rodney Head was unopposed in the Mayor’s race in Bullhead City.
Incumbent Tami Ring leads the race for one Bullhead City council seat (1,801), followed by Britnee Kidwell (1,628) and Annette Wegmann-Wood (1,239). Close balloting marks the battle for the second seat.
Pamela Smith: 2,799; Jacqueline Miller: 2,786; Daniel Alfonzo: 2,691.

Arizona State Primary
Arizona Congressman Andy Biggs (73%) has won the Republican nomination for Governor over David Schweikert. Biggs will battle Democratic Gov. Katie Hobbs in the Nov. general election.
Warren Petersen (56%) beat Rodney Glassman in the Republican primary for Arizona Attorney General. Peterson will advance to face Democratic incumbent Kris Mayes.
Mike Gannuscio and David Rose are out front in the republican primary for the two District No. 30 Arizona state legislative seats. They would advance to face Brian McMahan, who was unopposed in the Democratic primary.
Gannuscio: 15,579; Rose: 15,100; Grace Hecht: 10,309.

General Election Updates and Info
The Mohave County Recorder’s Office and Mohave County Elections Department continue making steady progress in processing ballots following Tuesday’s election.
Voter Registration staff have processed the majority of the late early ballots returned on or before Election Day.
The Recorder’s Office has reviewed and accepted approximately 6,000 late early ballots and forwarded them to the Elections Department for tabulation. The Elections Department will continue adjudication and tabulation of those ballots as they are received.
The Recorder’s Office is now processing provisional ballots while continuing to work with voters whose early ballots require signature verification. Approximately 80 early ballots remain pending for the signature cure process. Voters whose signatures require verification have until 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, to contact the Mohave County Recorder’s Office, Voter Registration Division, to cure their ballot and ensure it can be counted. The estimate of outstanding early ballots provided in yesterday’s update has been corrected.
Approximately 6,400 early ballots remained to be processed following Election Day. The previously reported estimate of approximately 7,400, released on July 22, resulted from an administrative reporting error in the estimated workload and did not affect any ballots cast, counted, or reported.
Based on the current pace of work, the Elections Department expects to post the next update to the unofficial election results at approximately 5pm today, Thursday, July 23.
Current election results remain unofficial until all eligible ballots have been processed, and the election has been canvassed. The Mohave County Board of Supervisors is scheduled to canvass the election on Monday, August 3.
