MOHAVE COUNTY – Mohave College President Dr. Christin (Chrissy) Holliday has completed her first week leading the College, marking a historic milestone as the first woman to serve as president of the institution.
Dr. Holliday, the seventh president of Mohave College, officially began her presidency on July 6, after being selected by the Mohave College Board of Governors following a national search. She arrives at a pivotal time for the College, which is expanding access to bachelor’s degrees, workforce training, early college opportunities, athletics and student support programs across northwestern Arizona.
“I’m honored to serve the College and to begin this work alongside the students, employees and community members who make this institution so special,” Dr. Holliday said. “The College has incredible momentum, and my first priority is to listen, learn and work with people across the region to build on that progress.”
During her first week, Dr. Holliday hit the ground running with meetings focused on major College initiatives, student success, workforce development, enrollment, operations and long-term planning. She also met with the President’s Cabinet and other College leaders as she works quickly to learn about ongoing projects and opportunities across the district.
Over the next several weeks, Dr. Holliday plans to visit all College campuses and centers, meeting with employees, students, community members and local partners. Those visits will include the Bullhead City Campus, Neal Campus-Kingman, Lake Havasu City Campus, Colorado City Campus, Advanced Manufacturing Training Center, Beale Street Center, Detroit Avenue Center and the College’s new Cosmetology building on Beale Street.
Her first weeks as president also come as she and her family are settling into northwestern Arizona after their move from Cal Poly Humboldt in Arcata, California.
Dr. Holliday previously served as vice president for enrollment management and student success at Cal Poly Humboldt, where she led areas focused on student access, enrollment, retention and success. Prior to that, she held leadership roles at Colorado State University-Pueblo, including senior system liaison for rural education and workforce initiatives and vice president of enrollment management, communication and student affairs.
Those experiences closely align with the Mohave’s current direction as it continues expanding affordable pathways for students, strengthening workforce partnerships and responding to the needs of communities throughout the region.
She’ll lead the College as it builds on some of the most transformational work in its history. In August 2025, Mohave Community College officially became Mohave College, a new public-facing name reflecting the institution’s growth into a more comprehensive college offering bachelor’s degrees. The first bachelor’s degrees are launching this fall semester. They are Biology, Elementary Education, Human Services and Nursing (RN-BSN), giving students more opportunities to earn four-year degrees at 1/3 the tuition of universities.
The College also opened its Advanced Manufacturing Training Center at the Kingman Airport Industrial Park, expanding hands-on training for high-demand careers in fields such as welding, HVAC, robotics, industrial maintenance and advanced manufacturing. The center has already drawn statewide attention as a major workforce development investment for rural Arizona.
Dr. Holliday also begins her presidency following a strong year for student achievement. In the May commencement ceremony, the College celebrated approximately one thousand students who earned degrees and certificates. Among them were more than one hundred Early College students age 18 and younger who earned certificates or degrees before graduating from high school.
Board members said Dr. Holliday’s background and energy make her well suited to lead the College during this period of growth.
Dr. Holliday said the College’s strength is rooted in its people and its connection to the region.
“Mohave College is here to help improve lives and communities,” Dr. Holliday said. “That is clear in the work happening across every campus and center, and that opportunity to serve others while increasing access to life-changing educational opportunities is what brought me here. I am excited to meet more students, employees and partners in the weeks ahead and to continue moving the College forward together.”
