LAKE HAVASU CITY — Incumbent Mayor of Havasu, Cal Sheehy, Seeks Re-election
Based on his record as Mayor of Lake Havasu City for the past eight years and all that has been accomplished during that time, Incumbent Mayor Cal Sheehy is asking for residents votes as he seeks re-election.
“I am seeking reelection to the office of Mayor of Lake Havasu City to continue to deliver for our residents,” said Mayor Cal Sheehy. “We have had eight years of fiscally conservative and balanced budgets, nine years of no property tax rate increases, and a seat at the table addressing our water future. I want to continue to serve our residents and protect the Havasu we all love.”
One way to protect Havasu is to protect the quality of their water.
“Water quality is important and we work with the state and federal agencies to ensure and protect the water quality in Lake Havasu,” Sheehy said. “This week we cut the ribbon on the new Dr. Thilak Fernando Water Quality Laboratory. This lab tests samples from our drinking water to ensure we exceed the standards.”
Another way to protect Havasu he said is protecting their Lake from harmful Algal blooms.
“Algal blooms are naturally occurring. We work with state, federal, and water users in the system to share information, data, and resources to address and communicate to the public the impacts of any algal blooms in the area,” he said.
He believes he can continue moving Lake Havasu City forward and says he’s prepared to do that.
“Experience matters and is important. I am ready to continue day one to move our community forward. I am a longtime Lake Havasu City resident and a graduate of Lake Havasu High School,” Mayir Sheehy stated. “I have a heart for service and will continue to lead with integrity and purpose. I believe in open and transparent government and will continue to be available for our residents as we do the good work that makes our community so special.”
He plans on making Havasu special because of what he sees for its future.
“Lake Havasu City is a dynamic community that invests in its residents and community. Over the next four years, a few of my goals are to complete Fire Station 7, deliver the second bridge, expand effluent water to more parks, adopt our citizen-led General Plan, continue the road and water main investments we have programmed in the budget, and add new field space and park upgrades. I will also deliver four more fiscally conservative balanced budgets that align with our residents’ priorities.”
What are his concerns?
“Lake Havasu City has a track record of addressing challenges head on. I have demonstrated my ability to meet any challenge or crisis and respond in a way that informs our residents and I am respectful and able to work with others. I will continue to lead in a way that puts our residents in the driver’s seat.”
Why should residents vote for Incumbent Mayor Cal Sheehy?
“Lake Havasu City deserves leadership focused on results, and I have delivered them,” said Mayor Sheehy. Eight consecutive years without a property tax rate increase. Eight balanced budgets with no new debt. Our first-ever AAA credit rating from Fitch. As Chairman of the Mohave County Water Authority, I am at the table defending our water. We will continue making Investments in roads and infrastructure and ensuring our residents can be proud to call Lake Havasu City home.”
