LAKE HAVASU CITY — The Lake Havasu City Police Department is currently investigating two incidents involving criminal damage to restroom facilities at Dick Samp Park and Avalon Park that occurred on June 5, 2026.
On June 5, at approximately 9:35 a.m., officers with the Lake Havasu City Police Department responded to a report of criminal damage at Avalon Park. Upon arrival, officers discovered significant vandalism to both the male and female restroom facilities. Damage included paper towel dispensers forcibly removed from the walls, toilets intentionally clogged with paper towels, rocks, and traffic cones, and garbage cans overturned, with debris scattered throughout the restrooms.
Later that day, at approximately 12:00 p.m., during an extra patrol at Dick Samp Park, a Lake Havasu City Police Department officer observed two individuals riding e-bikes through the park toward an open lot located behind the property. Due to recent incidents involving criminal damage to the park restrooms, the officer exited his patrol vehicle to inspect the facilities.
Upon entering the restroom, the officer observed what appeared to be chalk powder from a nearby baseball field spread throughout the interior. Several trash cans had also been overturned, with their contents scattered throughout the restroom.
A review of surveillance footage from Dick Samp Park revealed that the two individuals initially observed by the officer were seen in the area both before and after the vandalism occurred.
The first subject is described as a white male wearing a black baseball-style hat, a white T-shirt, and black pants, riding a black e-bike. Surveillance footage appears to show the individual carrying an unknown item on the handlebars or in his right hand. Initial footage shows the subject near the restroom area before any visible chalk residue was present. In later footage, the same individual is observed near the restrooms after a visible trail of white chalk appears in the area.
The second subject is described as a white male juvenile, believed to be in his teenage years, wearing a black skateboard-style helmet, a black T-shirt, and black shorts while riding a black e-bike. This individual was observed on surveillance footage in the area at approximately the same time as the first subject.
Photographs of both individuals are being released in an effort to identify them as part of the ongoing investigation.
