LAKE HAVASU CITY – Lake Havasu City invites residents and visitors to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a series of family-friendly events, recreational programs, and patriotic activities throughout June and July.

This year marks 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence and provides communities across the nation an opportunity to reflect on America’s history, honor those who have contributed to its success, and celebrate the values that continue to unite us.

To commemorate this historic milestone, Lake Havasu City Parks and Recreation has planned a variety of activities designed to bring families, neighbors, and visitors together through recreation, education, and community engagement.

The celebration kicks off this June with a month of family-friendly activities held each Saturday, offering residents and visitors opportunities to come together in recognition of America’s 250th anniversary. The festivities continue in July with patriotic-themed programs at the Aquatic Center, including baking classes, crafts, pickleball, and dodgeball, as well as Lake Havasu City’s official America 250 Celebration on July 1, featuring a free community pizza party and open swim from noon to 4 pm.

Patriotic festivities continue on Independence Day with red, white, and blue bridge lighting and the community’s annual fireworks display.

“America’s 250th anniversary is a once-in-a-generation milestone that gives us an opportunity to celebrate our nation’s history while bringing our community together,” said Assistant City Manager Anthony Kozlowski. “Our team invites residents and visitors of all ages to participate in these activities, enjoy time with family and friends, and reflect on the ideals that have shaped our nation for 250 years.”

Event dates, times, and activities are subject to change, and additional events may be added as plans and partnerships continue to develop. For additional information, visit the city’s social media sites, website at www.lhcaz.gov/fun ,or contact Parks and Recreation at 928-453-8686.
