Alleged marijuana dealer arrested during traffic stop

arrested in handcuffs

LAKE HAVASU CITY – An alleged marijuana merchant was arrested following an excessive speed-related traffic stop in Lake Havasu City. Frank Espinoza, 26, was reportedly driving 80-miles-per hour in a 55-mile-per hour zone when the vehicle he was operating was stopped on Highway 95 just before 1 p.m. on May 5.

More than 1.6 pounds of pot and an assortment of marijuana-laced products were found in the trunk of the vehicle, according to a police report. The seizure included 734 grams of pot, 50 pre-rolled cigarettes, dozens of vape pens, chocolate bars, gummy candy, pastries and wax.

Espinoza reportedly purchased the marijuana products in his hometown of Beaumont, California and transported the supplies to Lake Havasu City for sale.

“It is clear Frank is purchasing the products in California at a low cost and transporting it to the Lake Havasu City area where the items can be sold at an upcharge,” a police report said. It estimated the items purchased for about $4,900 could be sold for about $10,000.

Espinoza was jailed for transportation of marijuana for sale, excessive speed and driving on a suspended license.
