Eleven years strong: Inside the dedicated volunteer work of Havasu Side by Side Association

LAKE HAVASU CITY — For the past eleven years, nonprofit Havasu Side by Side Association has been bringing utility terrain vehicle (UTV) enthusiasts together for the love of riding Lake Havasu’s local trails. Currently, the charity has nearly five hundred families as members. Consisting of seven beneficial committees such as historian, sunshine, apparel, and social media.

The validity of each panel is what bonds the member’s camaraderie. The historian working group is to keep archived information like photo collages for members to view at meetings, recordings written in a notebook, along with printing and documenting of events and so much more. Their sunshine board is there to ensure members always feel supported and welcomed.

The riding group gives participants greeting cards and sometimes will provide meals to those in need just to brighten their day. Showing off their public branding, side by side has a unique collection of hats, t-shirts, and flags. Above all amongst their various committees is their trail maintenance and development efforts.

Working together through the years, the all-volunteer crew have organized desert cleanups, grooming bushes and trees that interfere with viewing and fixing damages done by storms. Between November of 2025 all the way into March of this year, the comrades finished eleven days of trail conservations.

For the use of off roading, the teams went out two times a month and manicured 271.5 trail miles with 1326.5 trail miles. In celebration of yet another victorious season, the club gathered just this past April at Niko’s Bar and Grill for a team recognition luncheon and community spirit. However, the riding gang is not quite ready to call it quits just yet on rejoicing their clean ups of trail miles.

This June, a camping trip to Williams, AZ is currently underway. The five-day trip will be all about riding, and while taking in the sights of the historically westernized town. Three membership options are available to join the association for families, businesses, and lifetime memberships.

More information about the club’s ongoing activities, events, and meetings can be discovered by visiting  Calendar | Havasu Side By Side Trail Association. If you are a fanatic about dune buggy adventures, it’s not too late to meet current members in person. This month the Havasu Side by Side Trail Association will be having their next business meeting on Thursday May 21 at 6pm.

Dinner will be served up prior at 4pm, and the open to the public get together will be held at the Quality Inn and Suites at 271 Lake Havasu Ave. The Havasu Side by Side Trail Association is always striving to advocate and inform their affiliates to be accountable riders who practice safety precautions for themselves as well as fellow riders. Additionally, they always aim to spotlight stewardship of Lake Havasu’s riding trails.
