Topock ex-con returning to prison for drug charges

KINGMAN – An ex-con will be returning to the Arizona Department of Corrections for a drug seizure at his home in Topock. Deputy Mohave County Attorney Rod Albright said officers seized 9.4 grams of methamphetamine during a Feb. 5, 2026 search of a residence at 12619 S. Apache Parkway.

James Lauver, 44, pleaded guilty April 23 to a charge reduced to attempted possession of dangerous drugs for sale. He faces a 2- to 3.5-year prison term when sentenced by Superior Court Judge Derek Carlisle on May 7.

Lauver pleaded guilty to sexual conduct with a minor involving a 16-year-old girl in 2018. He served about three months and a week in prison before he was released on Feb. 21, 2019.
