LAKE HAVASU CITY – A citizen who threatened Public Works Director Ron Foggin was arrested following the April 14 Lake Havasu City council meeting. Tim Murray, 76, admitted issuing the threat when interviewed by police.
A police report authored by Officer C. Devery said Capt. Kirk Cesena contacted dispatch and summoned officers following the confrontation that occurred during the council meeting. Murray frequently speaks during the Call to the Public citizen input portions of meetings and he did so on that date.
Foggin, who became employed by Lake Havasu following his termination as Kingman City Manager in Aug., 2023, spoke as the Council discussed and debated the City’s Request for Qualifications policy. Murray addressed Council as well.
Devery’s report said that Murray, in an aggressive manner, pointed at Foggin and said, “I’ll take your head off,” as he prepared to exit the Council chambers.
Devery said Foggin was asked if he was concerned about the threat. “He acknowledged that in today’s society, one never knows what could happen,’’ the police report said.
Murray was jailed for threatening and intimidating and disorderly conduct. He was released when the case was dismissed the next day.
