Deadly Kingman motorcycle crash under investigation

KINGMAN — A deadly motorcycle crash is under investigation by the Kingman Police Department. Deputy police chief Joel Freed said the incident occurred at about 5:40 p.m. on Feb. 1.

John Addessi, 75, was dead at the scene of the wreck in the 1200 block of East Andy Devine Avenue.

“Investigators learned from witnesses that the motorcycle was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed when it changed from the inside lane to the outside lane before striking the curb and sliding uncontrolled on the sidewalk,” Freed said. “Addessi was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.”

Freed said excessive speed and possible intoxication are factors of focus in the investigation.
