KINGMAN — The holiday season officially begins in Kingman with the 19th Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Locomotive Park, 310 W. Beale Street on Saturday, December 6, at 6 p.m.
This beloved annual tradition will once again bring the community together for an evening of holiday cheer as Mayor Ken Watkins joins Santa Claus to light the Cityís grand Christmas tree. This yearís celebration will also debut a brand-new addition with the train at Locomotive Park, now illuminated with a spectacular holiday light display synchronized to classic Christmas music.
The new train lighting display was made possible through the generosity of the Kingman Powerhouse Kiwanis Club, which donated $8,000 to bring the project to life.
This event is a beautiful example of what makes Kingman special,î said Mayor Ken Watkins. ìItís about community, tradition, and the joy of coming together. The new musical light display on the train will make this yearís celebration one to remember.î
Families are encouraged to stroll through the Very Merry Street of Lights beginning at 5 p.m., which will feature a stationary display of dozens of beautifully decorated floats and vehicles lined up on Beale Street in Historic Downtown Kingman. There will be music, trackless train rides, food trucks, and the Mingle Jingle Christmas Bazaar in the Beale Celebrations Event Center. The Mingle Jingle Christmas bazaar will be open from 1 to 9 p.m. Santa will be on hand in Beale Celebrations for photos from 1 to 4 p.m. He will then go back to the North Pole and then arrive by helicopter across from Locomotive Park, where children can visit with both Santa and Mrs. Claus in their castle.
