KINGMAN — A light jail sentence with options was imposed in an illegal mushroom case in Kingman. Nancy Fournier, 43, and her former boyfriend Justin Porter, 45, were arrested in November, 2024 when MAGNET narcotics task force officers confiscated hallucinogenic mushrooms being grown in a closet of a home in the 2700 block of Pasadena Avenue in Kingman.
Officers also seized harvested and dried mushrooms stored in a quart jar.
Fournier entered a probation guaranteed plea agreement convicting her of attempted possession of dangerous drugs for sale.
Attorneys and the Court said that evidence reveals that Porter was more involved and criminally culpable for the illegal growing operation, but that the contents of Fournier’s cell phone revealed the price per gram and other sales related communications involving mushrooms.
Judge Sipe placed Fournier on probation for four years. He also ordered a 20 day jail sentence, though she is eligible for work release and can also serve the time on weekends.
Porter’s case is still pending.
