KINGMAN — The Kingman High School Marching Band has qualified for the 2025 Arizona State Marching Band Championship sponsored by the Arizona Band & Orchestra Directors Association. The KHS Bulldog Brigade will perform its field show for the last time of the marching season on Saturday, November 15 at Glendale Community College in Glendale, Arizona. The top eight bands in Division 4 from across Arizona will vie for the state championship.
Competition adjudicators assess bands using standardized rubrics on music, visual performance, general effect, percussion, and auxiliary. Scores can be as close as one-hundredth of a point apart to determine ranking between bands within each division.
High school marching band in the United States brings together woodwind, brass & percussion players as well as color guard & drum majors to demonstrate skills in music, marching and creativity of the pageantry arts. Spending countless hours rehearsing since the July 2025 marching band camps, high school musicians have memorized music, developed marching techniques, and perfected drill for their football field shows. Marching band participation fosters the pursuit of excellence while promoting teamwork, leadership, and creativity.
Members of the community are invited to help wish the KHS Marching Band good luck during the State Championship Send-Off on Friday, November 14, from 12:20 to 12:35 p.m. at the main gate of Kingman High School (4182 N. Bank Street). Participants are encouraged to wear their Bulldog blue & gold and bring signs, banners & air horns.
