KINGMAN – Dozens of people from the local legal community and others witnessed Monday’s swearing-in ceremony for the two newest members of the Mohave County Bench, Ryan Esplin and Michele Holden.
Presiding Judge Steve Moss issued oaths of office to the two attorneys recently selected for appointment as Mohave County Court Commissioners. Friends, family members and associates provided roaring applause during the ceremony at the Law and Justice Center in downtown Kingman.
Newly appointed Court Commissioner Ryan Esplin gains an assist from his wife Becca in donning his judicial robe in public for the first time.
Esplin’s wife Becca helped him don his black robe in public for the first time. He told the audience they’ve known each other since the age of 12.
“She’s been on a long journey with me and I’ve loved every minute of it,” Esplin said. “I’m also thankful for our children. I love them so much.”

Esplin said he looks forward to assuming his new duties.
“I, too, very much look forward to doing the job. I’m sure it’ll be a learning experience but I’m here to learn and do a good job,” Holden told attendees. “I want to thank you all for your support.”
Veteran judges spoke highly of Holden and Esplin, and welcomed them to the bench. Moss said the depth of their experience and good character made them “magnificent choices” as Commissioner appointees.
