Colorado City man receives four years of probation for traffic fatality

Interior of courtroom

KINGMAN — A judge in Kingman has ordered a four year period of probation for a Colorado City man who entered a plea agreement for a traffic related fatality.

Alma Fischer, 66, is convicted of a charge of causing death by use of a vehicle.

A Colorado City police report indicates Fischer’s driver’s license was expired and his motor vehicle insurance had lapsed when he caused the September 14, 2024 collision that resulted in the death of Boldan Barlow, 21.

The narrative authored by investigating officer J. Davis said Fischer was eastbound on E Garden Avenue when he turned left onto Hildale Street into the path of the oncoming dirt bike that Barlow was operating southbound on Hildale Street. The dirt bike reportedly struck the driver’s side door panel of Barlow’s Toyota SUV.

Barlow was pronounced dead at the scene.

Terms of the plea deal guaranteed no further jail time. Judge Billy Sipe ordered a 55-day jail sentence and credited Fischer with the 55 days already served during the October 3 sentencing hearing.
