LAKE HAVASU CITY — There may be a speedy resolution of the Mohave County criminal case involving a Lake Havasu City man’s alleged sexual relationship with a teenager. Adrian Cruz-Black, 24, was arrested in July for continuous sexual abuse of a child and kidnapping, for taking the 14-year-old alleged victim to Texas last spring.

That the case might be resolved short of trial became clear during an October 1 status hearing at the Law and Justice Center in Kingman.

“We’re requesting a change of plea hearing in two or three weeks,” defense attorney Marcus Spradlin told the Court. “My understanding is that there are still some things (plea deal details) that are beind ironed out.”

Details remain confidential until the plea agreement is expected to be entered at an October 15 hearing.

Black also faces possible prosecution in Texas as the teenage girl told a Henderson County Sheriff’s Office deputy that she had sex with him in Gun Barrel City.
