New truck stop proposed on I-40 in Yucca

YUCCA — A new truck stop and companion commercial development is planned off Interstate 40 at Yucca, about 12 miles south of Kingman. A vacant 24-acre site is targeted for development of a truck service station, fuel and convenience stores and a fast food restaurant.

Tempe based Esencia LLC is the agent and applicant for the project and the site is owned by Clovis, California based High Tech Developing Inc. Requests for commercial highway zoning and a general plan amendment will be heard during next week’s meeting of the Mohave County Planning and Zoning Commission.

“Development of this parcel will help bring much needed services to the surrounding homes and communities such as gas, groceries, food and vehicle services,” the zoning application said. “This project will generate additional tax dollars with minimal infrastructure modifications required.”

The October 8 zoning commission meeting begins at 10:00 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors auditorium at the county administration building, at 700 West Beale Street in Kingman.
