LAKE HAVASU — A Kingman man arrested for not paying his bar tab in Lake Havasu City in June has been sentenced to prison for violating probation. The new case against Brian Busto for attempting to stiff the Nautical Beachfront Resort was dismissed in a plea agreement.

Busto, 24, was on probation when detained by resort security and arrested by Lake Havasu City police on June 11. He had been placed on supervised probation for three years in June, 2024 following conviction for sexual conduct with a minor.

Busto conceded probation failures in the new plea agreement entered before Judge Doug Camacho on Friday, August 1. Camacho noted that Busto failed to notify the sheriff’s office within 72 hours of changing his address.

Defense attorney Daisy Mazoff said Busto suffers mental health issues, depression and PTSD. She told the Court he self medicates to deal with his demons.

“My client fully admits he needs substance abuse treatment, and he wants it,” she said.

Judge Camacho focused on Busto’s original case, saying the sex offense involving a minor was very serious. He ordered a 27-month prison sentence.
