KINGMAN – Attorneys are a year apart in the prison sentence a Las Vegas man would serve under terms of a proposed plea agreement that would resolve a deadly traffic accident in Bullhead City.
Anthony Lee, 27, is charged with second degree murder in the May 2024, traffic accident that claimed the life of Judy Keller, 78, Bullhead City. He also faces aggravated assault, child abuse, driving under the influence and other charges for the accident that sent three adults and a child to the hospital for treatment of their injuries.
Authorities reported that Lee was speeding when his 2021 Dodge Charger allegedly ran a red light before striking a 2020 Hyundai that was turning left from Highway 95 at the Meadows Drive intersection.
The prosecutor told Mohave County Superior Court Judge Lee Jantzen Monday that the state is holding firm to its plea agreement offer that would send Lee to prison for 10 years. Defense attorney Virginia Crews said that she counter-offered a nine-year stay in the Arizona Department of Corrections and that her client intends to go to trial rather than taking the decade-long deal.
Providing more time for possible non-trial resolution, Judge Jantzen set the next hearing in the Lee case for September 2.
