Bullhead man and woman shot while trying to retrieve a cat

BULLHEAD CITY — A Bullhead City woman and the Fort Mohave man who accompanied her were both shot while trying to retrieve the woman’s cat from a Bullhead City residence early Tuesday, April 22.

Police department spokeswoman Emily Fromelt said officers responded at 12:15 a.m. to the 1900 block of Orca Lane. Andrew Adams, 32, was arrested for attempted murder, aggravated assault and misconduct involving weapons charges.

The 27-year-old Bullhead City woman reportedly told police that Adams invited her to fetch the cat, but that Adams opened fire as she approached his residence. Fromelt said the 33-year-old Fort Mohave man grabbed a rifle as he and Adams engaged in a verbal dispute.

“Adams reportedly fired shots in their direction,” Fromelt said. “The male victim suffered a gunshot wound to his head. The female was shot in her chest area.”

Fromelt said both victims were transported to a Las Vegas hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Adams was booked into the Adult Detention Facility in Kingman.
