National Park Service to host week-long cleanup celebration

LAKE MEAD – Lake Mead National Recreation Area staff is hosting its first Love Lake Mead Days. Lake Mead National Recreation Area seeks volunteers to help clean up the park April 19 – 26 during National Park Week and Love Lake Mead Days.

This event will bring together individuals, families, businesses, and organizations from the local gateway communities through volunteerism. The multi-day celebration will host a variety of service projects throughout the entire 1.5-million-acre recreation area.

Jr. Ranger Day and Government Wash Trash Bash will be held on April 19. Other events will occur from April 20-26, including campground beautification, litter cleanups, and seed collection.

Lake Mead is hosting this volunteer-driven stewardship event to help the park remove trash, collect native seeds, beautify a campground, and remove graffiti from the park.

Volunteers can assist throughout the week in a variety of park sponsored events. The National Park Service (NPS) will provide safety equipment, free entrance to anyone who registers, and light refreshments.

More information about any of these events can be found on the website: https://www.nps.gov/lake/getinvolved/love-lake-mead-day-2025.htm

Registration for the events is required. Contact the Lake Mead Volunteer Office either by phone at (702) 293-8714 or by e-mail
