MOHAVE COUNTY – Winter break is over; the spring semester has started and students are back on campus! Mohave Community College started its spring semester Monday, Jan. 13 with students returning to all campuses to continue the path of earning their degrees and certificates. The College is also welcoming new students who decided to start their educational journey as a Mohave Bighorn.

As of the first week of classes, spring semester enrollment is 4,365 students compared to 3,791 students last spring semester – an increase of 12%. The fall semester also had an increase of 16% compared to the fall 2023 semester.

Those who are not yet students, still have time to fill out the application and enroll in 12- and 8-week classes. Twelve-week classes start Feb. 10 and 8-week classes start March 17. Summer semester is also around the corner and is currently open to enroll in classes. The summer semester starts June 2. The registration window for the fall 2025 semester opens Feb. 18.

The College has many degree and certificate options to help students meet their education and career goals. People are able to browse the Academic, Healthcare and Career & Technical Education programs online at www.Mohave.edu/Degrees.

This year the college added a new program, Respiratory Care Practitioner which is an 18-month program designed to prepare students for the career field and to take the national board exams. A respiratory care practitioners duty includes assessing the respiratory status of patients, developing and implementing respiratory care plans, performing diagnostic tests and more. Learn more about the program at Mohave.edu/respiratory-care.

MCC also offers many Corporate and Community Education non-credit classes. The courses range from teaching fun skills for hobbyists to professional skills needed in the local workforce. These classes are not graded and are offered on the Kingman, Bullhead City and Lake Havasu City campuses. To see a list of those classes, visit ce.mohave.edu.

Those interested in learning more about becoming an MCC Bighorn should visit Mohave.edu/Admission. Fill out the online form to create a student account, and a College representative will be in touch to assist with the application, tuition assistance and enrollment process.
