Kingman man killed in traffic crash

KINGMAN – A traffic related death is under investigation in Kingman. Police Chief Rusty Cooper said Vernon Parsons, 87, was pronounced dead following transport to Kingman Regional Medical Center after the single vehicle traffic incident.

Officers responded at 10:45 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 12 to the multiple crash area in the 3000 block of Hualapai Mountain Rd.

“The investigation determined that Parsons was driving a Jeep Cherokee southbound on Fripps Ranch Rd. approaching Hualapai Mountain Rd. when he appeared to lose control of the vehicle, driving onto the sidewalk, crashing into a utility box and a block retaining wall before crossing Hualapai Mountain Rd. uncontrolled, crashing into a tree,” Cooper said. “It is unknown what caused the vehicle actions leading up to the crash.”

Cooper said Parsons was wearing his seatbelt and that no other vehicles or people were involved in the incident.
