Concerts in the Park series returns to Havasu

LAKE HAVASU CITY – As temperatures steadily decrease in Lake Havasu, now is just the right time for annual events to kick up such as Havasu’s favorite performance series, Concerts in the Park.  The first show of this year’s season took place on Friday, October 4 at London Bridge Beach.

The season’s first act making attendees get up and dance was local entertainers Kevin Jaxon and Midnight Sun.  Self-taught guitarist and singer Jaxon, along with his Midnight Sun band, energized the crowd by performing audience favorites from legendary musicians like Prince, James Brown, Wilson Pickett, and plenty more.

If you missed last Friday’s debut show, there’s still time to enjoy the season with other upcoming entertainers scheduled to perform. Our local Parks and Recreations team has put together yet another jam-packed season of more local favorites like the return of country band Backcat X.

Aside from country, the band is also a blend of covering blues and classic rock favorites. This will be the band’s second performance for the annual season, as Blackcat X made their debut for the series just last year.

The following Friday will welcome a concert  by returning  act Swamp Donkey. The band will perform a variety of different music genres such as country, classic rock, reggae, and the blues. The conclusion of the concert series will welcome 1980s tribute band Top Shelf singing popular 1980s songs done by Huey Lewis and the News, The Knack, Billy Idol, and many more.

These community concerts are free to the public so come out, and join the fun! Outside food and drink is not allowed but attendees can enjoy onsite food and beverage purchases at food trucks that are available at each show.

Guests can also bring their own chairs and blankets to enhance their relaxation while watching the performances.  Blackcat X is scheduled to play this Friday, October 11, Swamp Donkey’s will be on Friday, October 18, and Top Shelf will be performing on Friday, October 25.  All concert are from 6 to 9 p.m. at London Bridge Beach. Give your October Fridays a boost and celebrate Concerts in the Park Fall Series.
