LAKE HAVASU CITY – A Phoenix firm submitted the apparent low bid to install a traffic signal in Lake Havasu City. Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT) officials opened two bids for the work in Phoenix last Friday.
The Combs Construction Company bid of $1.25 million is roughly a half-million dollars above the ADOT estimate, and a little more than $370,000 under a rival bid.
“The proposed project is located in Mohave County at the intersections of Mcculloch Blvd and Jamaica Blvd, and El dorado Ave, in City of Lake Havasu,” ADOT’s website said. “The work consists of installing a traffic signal and speed feedback signs. The work also consists of ADA sidewalk ramp improvements, slurry seal, signing and pavement markings, and other related work.”
Possible bid award could occur at either the Sept. 20 or Oct. 18 meetings of the Arizona State Transportation Board.
