LAKE HAVASU CITY – Get in touch with your artistic side at this weekend’s Cactus Garden Class. The crafty course taught by local artist Carol Campbell-Gertz may bring out the imaginative side of you that you didn’t know was there.
Campbell-Gertz is a retired executive finance officer who decided to combine her love of wine and art into a unique hobby. Her painting on wine glasses business debuted in 2005. The artist loves taking blank wine glasses and transforming them into gorgeous works of art.
Presently, Cambpell is in a partnership with local gift shop Our Place Boutique where her artwork is sold. With her upcoming cactus garden class, students are supplied with six-inch clay pots and six rocks that they will be taught to resemble cactus.
Participants will be able to select their own colors and rocks to create cactus artwork with their own style. Course fees are $40 per person and any additional questions can be answered by emailing Campbell-Gertz at wineslippers@gmail.com.
The Cactus Garden Class will be on Saturday, August 31 from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Our Place Boutique. The artist would like the public to know that her classes are all in the spirit of enjoyment.
“I’ve created these classes as a way for people to learn about crafts and socialize. I really enjoy watching my students have fun with it, and not take their creative processes too seriously,” Campbell-Gertz said.
